Warm, mild, sultry climate.
Raucous, generous, friendly people.
Oysters, crawdads, pralines, etouffee, gumbo, jambalaya, and poor-boys.
Bourbon and Frenchman's streets.
The Mighty Mississippi!
Gracious, colorful, multicultural architecture, for both the living and the dead.
Festivals, parades, and general merry-making.
Music in the streets, in the shops, in the bars, at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and on your mind.
All the iterations of pork and hot sauce one could ask for.
Round-the-clock, world-class people watching.
Topped off with midnight beignets.
I knew you'd love it :)

They say it's all about the layering
There's a certain satisfaction to, finally, dressing perfectly for the weather. As we say in my household, we don't like when it's too HOT!! or too chilly-willy, but we're happiest when it's nice. Maximizing meteorological comfort is an important skill, particularly for all-day sojourns in an an unfamiliar clime, especially when one has missed the mark for several days running.

At this point
I think it's safe to assume that I won't outgrow my love of stories about humans and their talking animal friends.
