I'm not really embarrassed to quiz hotel staff about Internet access, good restaurants in the area, and workout possibilities, but I do feel pretty sheepish when I have to call down to the desk to ask:
Um, how do I turn on the shower?

I once called down to maintenance and told them my sink didn't work - turns out I had to LIFT the handle not TURN it... *whoops* What was crazy about the shower?
Sometimes my thinking is remarkably boxlike...the "change to shower" knob looked just like the "drain stopper" knob in most showers, so I didn't even try it. Instead, I twisted this other knob (still don't know what that did) 5 ways to Sunday and almost pulled of tub faucet out of the wall, trying to find another switch.
